What one person in your rtcw career has left an indelible mark in your life?

Posted by: .Banks (Thursday, March 8, 2007)

Take a moment, close your eyes, and imagine with me. Your an axis/allied LT.Your standing over a battlefield (mp_beach). You have a sullen look in your sleep deprived and barely councious eyes. Youve just fought the toughest battle of your 5 year career. As your mind takes you back over the years of watching close friends fall, nights without sleep, victories and hard fought losses. Think of those friends that fought with you, sometimes, kept you alive, and were supportive of you. Name there names here. Give them the credit there due. For a change, lets have some pleasant thoughts of the game, and people we have shared the last few years with.

LOL an indeligible mark

wrekz from system also known as "stoned newbie" probably taught me the most. The guy could shoot like no other, and would take the time to field any questions I could shoot at him. We talked alot on vent, and he actually took the time to go to speakeasy wdc alot, and show me things in person. That type of attitude, from somebody who was much better than me, left an impression on me that Ill never forget. There are others who over the years have shared there skills and knowledge with me as well, such as militant, snipetx, dynosaur, Kep, Focker, warzone, but wrekz , whereever you are my friend, my hats off to ya /salute juventus was brazen enough to kindly point out. Ive never been the pro speller :(

BeavermanA, the guy was an incredible shot. Everytime he would be on WolfTV he would always be taking out a couple of people with just a clip like it was nothing. Also, Lynch for being one of the greatest panzerfausts in the game. Always liked watching him stop an incoming push for the OBJ. Good times. So-long RTCW and it's community. Maybe you all will keep gaming or cross paths in the future. As for me, it's time to finish my degree and move on. Good Games All.

For me it is a toss up between two clan mates:

When it came to strategy and knowledge of the game, that guy knew how to lead a match. He would also take the time to get together with the COH members that wanted to improve their shots or their all around game and help them out, sure he would get pissed easily if you couldn't do what he was trying to show you... but, Jeef dude you rule.

But probably the most profound mark left on me has been by Wippuh. I don't even think he needs an explaination. All of the work he did for the community, and all of the work that he did for our team is easily seen by all of you guys. I know alot of you guys dislike him, and to that I say... you don't know him.

I would have to say the birdz for always giving me a hard time and making fun of me because i'm not as good as them. It gives me hope the way they put things, and to caff to help me stop using the N word!

loool, I remember playing with zman when I was still on 56k 2001 and 2002. Server was called Bierhoffs. Wow...the memories. He always had the same ping as me, like 300+.

FuZioN taught me how to play & was my first clan leader... Lateralus taught me how to trick jump. I have no idea who inspired me to map, but whoever that was, thx

one person in my rtcw career that has left an indelible mark in my life has to be caffeine from teh birdz. This guy is extremely underated. He is a human spawn clock, could tell you any spawn time right off the top of his head. His smartness is also greatly underated, imo prolly one the smartest to ever gracefully play this game. If you could take time out and watch him play you would actually learn something from it, not like watchin rem work a corner and get insane amount of headshots. RTCW aint about headshots or kills it was about teamwork and being smart. Take the birdz for example they didnt have the best guns wolf has to offer but its not like they were slackin there either. With the birds lacking in the gun department there insane med work and smartly coachin from caff took them a long way.

I know caff can be one for talking shit but he also wont take shit from no one. If you get past shit talking for one moment like any other person caff is a really chill guy. You may say hes your boy and obcourse your gonna say that about him, well needless to say i've had my share of teams and I gotta say playin under his wing it was by far the best. Caff is the glue that holds a team together and with all this gay shit said good'day

Mutha knows what he's talking about with Caff...You gotta play with him on a team to understand. (I wish I could have more than just ET and bench/scrims)

Sonic/Sonicreducer from FearUs,Birds,GLOW,Extras Marc taught me all he knew about this game and introduced me into league play. He convinced the leaders of his teams to give me a shot, let me play when they are men short/scrims. He /quit all gaming with a respected cold-turkey style, something I don't see myself ever being able to do.

also mucho respecto to Greatone(Gutshot),Jdawg,Spiza,Dirty & more recently guys from HL(Tyson,Warchild,Ownage,Scott,Blue,Silent,&Alien when he cared :P)

The two most influential players in my game were Megatron (from 7angels and later Trinity) and Faded (c!a). Megatron and I started playing together pretty much from the start of the game, and he really got me back into it when I retired after season 3. Megatron hooked my up with c!a, which was the best clan I have ever played with.

c!a was led by Faded, who is a marine lt in rl, and he ran that clan really tight - very military style. The other members of c!a were a great influence in how I learned my style of play. Chronic and Solomon taught me a lot about teamwork. I have distinct memories of c!a setting up multiple defensive positions on mp_rocket that held really well and were quite innovative at the time.

Pretty much everything I learned was in c!a or from Megatron.

Big shoutout to the Birdz even though I only played with about half of you. The rest of you are just all cool guys and never gave me shit even though I use the N word like Intimidator. Also HUGE shoutout to the guys in HL.. You guys were fun as shit and I loved the drunken match nights for scotty and pual.. you two are fucking hilarious..

The main 2 people that really kept this game interesting/awesome for me though.. Were Alien (lonzo) and Spite (Lance).. I know I haven't been around half as long as all of you guys. I only played about 3 years I guess.. Somewhere around there. When I first started playing it was with RSF (Renegade Strike Force) lead by Eagle (Rick) and his wife Jackal (Jackie).. Shortly after I joined Lonzo and Lance joined.. We left RSF and created our own shit with coldnezz.. We had late nights of teenagery bullshit until like 4 in the morning and it was nothing but fun.

Lance and I played alot of WOW and diablo2 and when we came back to Wolf.. Alien was a fucking beast. He taught me some new shit and helped me get back up to par. Then we came back together in HL for the past season. Nothing but love for you 2 guys.. Alien was an awesome shot with a gun as well as with the panz. Plus he was our ethnic player. Spite Was good with strats and had an alternative style of thinking altogether to come up with things that would keep his opponent guessing. Also he had a nice shot. Oh, and he was our canadian player ;).

My shit probably is not nearly as significant as all the rest of you who have been playing this game since demo, but all the shit I went through on this game, I guarantee was just as important emotionally.

My last big thanks goes to every single one of you. Regardless of all of the hate and love between everyone I'm sincerely appreciative of all of your guys' effort in keeping the game alive, all the controversy, all the shit talk, all the upsets, everything. Without all of that.. we wouldn't have such a strong community left and wolf never really would've been wolf. Much love to the whole community. Hope to see you fuckers on rtcw 2.. also if anyone is planning on being really serious about wolf2 ( tournys n shit.. going to qcon all that jazz) HOLLA at me.. even though it's probably never going to come out...

OH.. and ZMAN was in RSF.. he was like 54 years old, worked on semi trucks and was cool as fuck.. He used to go to his sons house and use his cable internet .. fucking cool as shit.

Never really had to learn anything since I played FPS even before wolf, but there were certain individuals that left a print on my conscience.

First and probably the best personality I've met in RTCW was Saint|timebomb. The guy had enough will and self belief to constantly refuse to accept the mediocre level position. He led his team(saint) through the toughest competition (main/invite) constantly encouraging players to do their best and not take no for an answer. And even when everything collapsed on its ass he still managed to recover by starting over and going that same direction. Needless to say, he took what he wanted at the end by playing on the top American team.

Invisibleman - no matter what people threw at him, he achieved everything he wanted and never treated anybody as a lesser human being while he definitely could. This is no joke. The guy might have appeared as a goofball half of the time, but he's got the spirit that not many people can compete with. Good friend.

Specops. Same applies to him. Nicest person in wolf (inside his circle anyway) can be confident that he can physically and verbally put down %99.9 of shittalkers around him. Yet still, he managed to treat everybody like a brah. Lack of vent comms and star sickness distanced this guy from his old crew, but he's still a "papa" to many of us left here.

Elliott and hiki - people who can perform against all odds. They make the game look easy by doing things right. Star sickness damaged elliott's rep more than Alphaneo could ever imagine.

SnipeTX and Zeaus. Wise guys with a lot of life experience and lifetime great attitude. They keep people under their wing. Nicest persons ever on internets.

RGR core. Everybody who stays together in gaming after 3 seasons deserve endless amount of credit, especially with me around.

sonicreducer and |ALN|Roadkill probably were the two who helped me out most with rtcw and cpu related technical issues, along with all around rtcw knowledge. both great guys who are/were always there to help you out.

donka also has it right, people you could play on the same team with off/on or consecutively for multiple seasons, or multiple years become good friends. Ding, nutbag, jdawg, batwings, inlu, jaytee....all great guys and fun to hang with on vent.

wrekz from system also known as "stoned newbie" probably taught me the most.

id have to agree. rex, jamesdeep, jerk, tacoma helped me the most. great guys. i forget what invisiblemans old name was when he was in |cool| but he made me a $50 bet that cool would beat Ac. he was OBVIOUSLY wrong ;) but he offered to take me out for dinner at Quakecon if i went HAHA. nice i guess :p

i learned a lot in the RTCW demo test 2 playing with raziel, lunatic, jones, slag, parcher, peccadillo, radigan, hik0, goodspeed and others. also some of the old M2 guys. good times

the guy who really taught me the most was rob - biff from birds v.1.0. he used to give this crosshair control speech and taught myself, spud, mutha, and goose about playing in competition. he was our leader the 1st season - instilling the team first attitude that we still play w/ today, even in pubs (unless krispiekreme is on the team, then you don't bother reviving him).

he also brought clinton "troll" cork into our circle, which had its ups and downs (meaning troll gives good head)

Saleen would be my first thought. He introduced me to OSP and helped me strive to be a better player when I was a wee shrub nub. He had a commanding presence on the few times I was on vent and always enjoyed answering my retarded questions. Always a good guy, and a quality player.

From the older Team Necrotic days, we had a core group for the 5v5 OSP who played almost every match together. Those were Cullen, Enzo, Tempest, and Skeet (from SoS). We always had a blast in the game and rarely left the match without Cullen saying some retarded comment in his nasly voice. Skeet was always a great guy and we really missed him when he went into retirement - Enzo and Tempest were good players aswell and alot of our 5v5 wins were acredited entirely to them and their ability to do random clutch plays.

As far as enjoyable people. MeSh always stood out as a good guy, who always had a positive thing to say and was a great teammate. It's been awhile since we've chat and my memory fades me, but he stands out in the blob of names as someone who was dedicated, not holy-than-thou and a fun guy.

I agree with KeP entirely on Faded and c!a. They really were a core team and showed it in ever match. Faded and Woolf were really cool guys and really took a progressive track to make a dedicated team from mainly OLTL players. I'd have to say KeP is also one of the coolest guys I've had the pleasure of knowing in wolf. He's always been a great shot and insightful guy - not coming in with banter but with a logical point. He also did what he could in my tournament, and really supported the entire thing even tho he was busy irl. Class act.

I also enjoyed HL this season. Was really fun seeing a team that can joke and have such a madman as Tyson in charge and yet do so well. I think the last thing I remember Tyson saying, well yelling, was that one of his balls hurt horribly bad over vent. I was playing and a friend came down with some food, and just herd some guy yelling that - practically dropped his plate of food. Alien is a crazy guy who definately contracted herpes from someone in HL. He's also got pubes that go to his calfs. The rest of the crew (WC, Ownage, 00tz, Ding, Blue, SilentStorm, etc.) were class acts and had a blast playing with them when I did.

And now I must say I have enjoyed so many entertaining, thrilling, and enjoyable seasons of RtCW that I'll have memories of almost every emotion until I die. This game was my first contact with an online competative community such as this and it's really a great thing - while alot of people may be negative it adds to the pool and is really somewhat important to see negativity where it's constructive. The leagues, tournaments, ladders, and so on. Theres so many memories - so many nights on vent and even (gasp) some on TS. From playing 3v3 all night with UfoK on custom maps, to sitting on Assault for hours doing strats with }-{, to the many nights of randomly getting 5 for the OSP ladder and throwing togehter a strat for Team Necrotic last minute to win.

Theres been alot of drama, and alot of good times. It's been an amazing journey and I've made plenty of friends and plenty of enemies. Both will fade in time - and I'll pub once and awhile and say hello to some of you and you'll say to yourself "Who is that guy?". This game will be around and I'm sure some will play it for years to come - in whatever fashion it is presented in competative form - and I wish you all the best of luck. I'll be around here and there but I don't see myself doing anouther team or season again - nor anything else related besides mabye a few more articles for P-RTCW. Again, a great journey and all of you have been a part of it. Take care and be a pro - corner camp a gravestone!

Early influences for me weren't even people I knew or talked to regularly but people or teams I'd watch on WTV and see within the community. I was always inspired by the solid teamwork and overall gameplay of teams like Locked on Target, Deathtouch and Darkside. During one of the BoB tournaments, many moons and aliases ago, I had brief IRC conversation with Muddy who talked about why top teams are where they are and what it took to get there and so that always stuck with me.

After watching from the sidelines in the early days I started to get into competition and more people starting to influence and inspire me as I got involved with the community. Teams like Bomb Your Enemies/2am along with my own teammates from Old Skool Gamers were equally inspiring. Guys like Atari aka BigRedOne, Excitebike, Contra, Gradius and TatFreak were all great to me. Also players like TheHammer, MagicMikey, Insano, Sladden and Blight were kind of the players I "grew up with" so to speak. Awesome group of people.

Then after a short break and some PC upgrades I came back and my influences would have to have been playing with Teh Birdz. Mutha already said how influential Caffeine is and he was by far the most influential player I ever played with. He helped me understand the importance of timing, teamwork and overall smart technique. Guys like spuddy, mutha, mesh, animal, goose, iokain, lox, eights and sonic were all amazing teammates and kept me coming back every night. I wish we could have kept that team intact forever. GOD DAMN WoW ADDICTION!

For me it would be two people, baby and pingGan, both with opp. Baby for showing how dedicated a leader and community member could be. She was always trying to up her and the teams game. She also had the stupid idea to further help the community by becoming an admin (which ultimatly lead to her leaving the community, because hell it is hard to admin children). Then I would have to say ping because he could make playinig a game for 2 years still new and exciting. Ping was always a player under the radar skill wise but over the radar posting wise. He used to get alot of attention for his gret attitude and love for the game, which he deserved. I never really played for any other team but opp in my wolf days and looking back on it it was because of these two as well as the numerous others on the team that kept me playing the game. although a great game it was the people that made it fun.

opp was always my fav team to scrim cause of their great attitudes, i always loved joining their vent for some lols afterwords. i could never really understand anything ping said but he was funny as fuck..

as for me it would have to be everyone i ever played with in redemption, not just one or two people.heres the shout outs!

fenix,madness,riot,neo,stiegl,smokey,silentstorm,julie,laws,rapier,hova,vatican,serbian,seed.. i know im missing someone!1>1.

well, if were gonna get into shoutouts, I may as well add some to the mix :) From the old days, all the guys from chaoskrue, my very first competition clan. Robes, eternal, clinique, Reave,afk4life, sharp, branmuffin, cade, HooHaa, Logiryan, spitfire, and then my boys in EOD...JohnnyBlaze, saleen, stormrider, underdawg and all our favorite haxor `sIn also known as Mr. Wall Hax cutter. The favorite team of all tho, has got to be N4L. When we had militant, alphaneo,Roth,Bread, akasha, warzone,Thorian, me, dyno, focker, alien, kep, snipetx, mortal,mutha,v1d, and we went into our first bani and shrub matches...all I can say is lollorskates. We made poor teams disband, quit the leauge/ was almost embarrasing. Those days...were just hilarious. You guys will always be in my fondest memories.

It would be way too hard to select just one player or person who has influenced or affected me the most in this community where players come and go in such a short time. However a few people standout in my mind as key players in my gaming career. Darkon, Vixen, Johnny, TheHammER and Funk_Dokta.

Darkon Easily one of the chillist guys on the Internetz. Darkon and I spent a whole summer tweaking my shot by dueling for hours upon hours on Assault and in the Arena Map. Before that I couldnt hit the side of a barn (still cant), however he helped me improve my overall shot by leaps and bounds! I give a lot of credit to Darkon also for showing me how to panzer a lot better than I could. He showed me all the ropes. Reviewing my demos of matches and telling me tips on what I should do to improve my game play ability with the n00b stick.

Vixen One of the sweetest people online. She put her heart and soul into this community and into the many teams she was apart of during her career. She was basically like my online mom. I first meet her when she was in EOK back in 2001. When I joined up with Collateral Damage later on in my gaming career she was someone I could talk to for hours about anything. Gaming. Real Life. School. Books. History. Bikes. TV. Scifi. Anything. Vixen is someone I would jump at the chance to frag with and Im glad shes part of the Cross Breed family.  Despite many peoples views of her shes still one of my best friends online and I trust her with anything.

Johnny ASN was CBs rival for along time. When we first played each other back in 2002 in a ladder match I saw how ASN had teamwork, strats, and skills all nailed down. I instantly wanted CB to be just like that. Johnny and I would ring for each others teams and chat for hours about random stuff. Johnny played with CB and Collateral Damage for a few season and is currently a member of Cross Breed. Easily one of the most chill and relaxed guys online. Plus hes a total nerd like meh. We stay in touch and chat on AIM often tossing back and forth C++ code and .java programs. Plus hes good at the sex0r. :o

TheHammER Never say quit. Thats what he showed me from the get go. EAW was where I meet him in many scrims and ladder matches vs. his former team. I tried getting Hammy to join up with CB many times and just recently he tagged up with CB for ET. He showed me strats, tips, hints in RTCW and gave me a chance when no one else would to help CB out. I credit him for showing CB how to finally win at UFO(a map we used to be terrible at!!) even to this day we still use a variation of his strat on that map! Plus Hammy is a great guy and a great friend. One of the best strat callers in all of RTCW/ET history FYI!

Funk_Dokta CBs first leader/founder. Great guy. Classy. Very funny. Very knowledgeable about gaming, life and everything in between. He gave me the chance to prove my leadership abilities and let me run with it and Ive never looked back. I credit him for giving me the chance to play in this great game even though my experience was limited early on when I was looking for a team. He was Cross Breeds daddy and Ill always respect him for the natural leadership ability he had and the jokes he would bring to vent.

I dont have anyone but i have two teams who affectd me in my rtcw career which was ... OPP and RGR. These peepz are serious business when it came to competetion. These were my last 2 teams and were alwayz very fun.

I didnt know much bout wolf really when i barely join OPP. I was a normal pubber playin for [WS] until we scrimed them once and decided i liked to be in that clan. I joined and it was a roller coaster ride all the way thru. We had ups where we won some season of twl beta/alpha not sure which one on ice. Forgot who we played. And man we was serious as could be. I even got yelled at for knifin a guy from pingan. =X And when we would lose, the whole team took it hard bcuz i know we was the prlly the most late night team scriming. We work hard on strats and stuff to get ready for upcoming matchups. And after a lose, we would just stay quite in vent for about a hour and wouldnt say shit to each other. Was kinda sad but after that we would hit up toontown fun. We tried to get many rtcw players to play wit us. It was a rpg online sort of like wow but cartoon characters. We had a blast. My memorable players from the OPP squad were all of them. Baby , Joe/MP40 , Pingan , Hydro , Spa, Newt, Buddy , Natas , Yogi. I lovem all good times.

My recently crew Jolly Rgr was another indeliable specially gettin yelld at by Donka and vid. At first i didnt know any of these guys tbh. I remeber i asked donka to join and he said it was kool. And i remeber one thing taht donka said when i was first joined in vent was " If any of you fuckers are hackin Imma kick your ass off the team" ( Not sure anyone remebers that but i do fuckin hilarious) It felt like being in a room full of ins peepz. pretty scary. But to welcome me was my fellow mexican alien. I was shy liek the 1st month barely speakin in vent. And when i did was being made fun. Like when i was sick and all could barely speeak. FUCKERS! Of course like all teams we had our fun. But always was more serious when it came down to matchups. And meetin 4 of them in RL was much more exciting specially knowing we may had our fights but we didnt hold grudges in RL and party and had fun at qcon. Tho it was like being the sore thumb of the team ( 100%Mexican not half like vid or alien [fags]) it was fun. I was always getting picked on and calld names but it was all in fun. Being the panzer of the team was also puttin me in the pick on seat bcuz i was always left behind. There was no use for me after my shot occured. "OPERATION LEAVE THE MEXICAN BEHIND". Good Laughs and good personalitys stuck thru and we held together as a team for some seasons.Lovem All my Jolly Rgrs Vid Donka Sage Alien KK HIki Kala Elliot Slag and others i dont remeber. ;X

I love you too beaner.

Tim on the other hand. F OFF! ;p ;p ;p

Seriously though like Tim and w0rd said. Its all about OPP and everyone that played for it from ping, baby and joe to Tim, beaner, hydro, valentine, ggallin and infinite on the CSS team, naps and anyone else I forget and even the homos like newtypoo and gayvid. If I ever play a game competitively again it will ONLY be with OPP.

I started out playing Demo with a few of my rl buddies parEcon and Beau (who had a million aliases, he would only play on LAN with me). Had not been for those two guys, i probably wouldn't have gotten into gaming and PC's in general, so i have them to thank (curse?) for that.

Moving to the retail version i only played OLTL. I met JohnnyBlaze from EOD and he introduced me to Naps and Underdawg who also pubbed some OLTL. They got me to download Vent and i started to play with them in pubs and learned to communicate and play as a team member. Shortly there after i joined EOD and all those guys pushed me to be better.

Then Myth came along :) I was playing for EOD, we had just won twl beta, i was still having fun, but wanted something more. At that time, Invite really meant something, and tTt was at that level. I went on Trinity's vent to scrim with them, and i was hooked right away. AK, RocstaR, Chocula, Myth, all great guys. I could tell right away they would push me to play better. It was a hard decision, but i left EOD to go to Trinity. I had talked to all the guys in EOD about it, and they were all very cool about it. Last thing i wanted to do was upset those guys, and i'm still friends with them all to this day, and most of them eventually came to some form of trinity or another.

Present day i have to say Myth and Robes are what keeps me going. I wouldn't have been playing at all if it weren't for those 2 guys over the past 3 seasons. I can't forget to mention Saleen here, he's always been a buddy of mine dating back to the EOD days, and he's another reason i keep coming back. Gotta say, if those guys left, i would likely do the same.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

I got tidbits from several players. I came in so late to the scene, I mostly played shrub, and rtcw was my first PC fps. But after playing some osp servers a few times, I quickly learned who the dicks were, and who the nice guys were. I've asked several people for help over IRC, and I don't think I've ever beened turned down. Well, except when I wanted eight's spawn timer :O (I think I've got the right guy). I know I got guerilla's and ralphtehnader's configs as my first to get started, alpha neo gave his configs with scripts, and donka tried to show me how to trick jump (well).

TSG marketgarden and the ICE server are what got me to keep the game for so long though.

I gotta say that I completely agree with Mutha on what he said about Caffeine. All shit-talking and e-drama aside, Caff was the man who held that team together, he literally WAS the human spawn-timer, and is/was a great leader for the team. Having spent most of my wolf "career" in and out of deployments/tdy's/training/bullshit, I would come back and to my delight would still have a spot on the team, regardless of who filled in my spot while I was gone (which, I gotta hand it to the guys that stepped up to the plate during my absence, they were always good sports when asked to step down a round or two so I could jump back in).

Caff, great leader, great guy, always ALWAYS a good time to pub with.

Spuddy, Sonic, Mutha - those guys totally made it worth it to me in several different. Spuddy with the incredible friendship and loyalty, and a great time practicing our guns on FNF and trickjumping maps, Sonic was always down to help out with computer issues. Mutha was always the guy to try and aspire to be, really level-headed (for the most part hehe) and an incredible gun.

Loxodonte for his bullshitting after gaming, messing with music and video and all that great stuff. His INVALUABLE experience and willingness to learn new programs for video/sound.

As far as other guys, I appreciate alot of the other fellas out there who took the time out of their gaming/work-time to lend a hand. FuZion, for showing us spots in ET maps when we had no idea wtf was going on. Rampage, for being one of the greatest and nicest fellas I've ever known. Lt.Goose for the scapegoating...

Shit, there are so many names out there to throw out. So many positive people out there. As much as this community bitches and gripes, collectively everyone makes an impression in their own way and it's like pieces to the puzzle.

but overall, probably caffeine or spuddy made this game most worth coming back to.

I started playin rtcw right at the start of BoB...I played with a cracked version of the game on a cracked server called Wikki. 3 names automatically come to mind that i'd like to thank for teaching me a ton about the game and also getting interested and psyched about competition play. I used to play Wikki everyday for hours with Krale, Phluid and BlowShitUp when the game first came out. Pubbin with those guys in Wikki was an awesome time and they taught me so much. I know I burned a few bridges with some of those guys, but just wanted to give you props. Also wanna say thanks to Bloodymist, Phantom and Darkstar, you guys are some of the best players i've played with and it was fun while it lasted. Team Eclipse guys, that was an awesome clan, took the game serious, practiced and scrimmed EVERY day and it showed in how much we progressed...Shoeshine havent talked to ya in awhile hope everything is good man. And last but not least my CI/On boys....goes unsaid how much fun we have on vent...I really think if any other people came on our vent, with me beast and dress all on at the same time, people would probably think we game from an asylum, or we were 11....and thats awesome

I don't know how many of you remember sirMichael from LQD but he did a lot to get me out of noob world and really into the competitive scene. He recruited me from SeeD to play with |LQD|. However, seeing that the newly reformed(post Warri0r) |LQD| wasn't going to stay together, SirMichael encouraged me to look elsewhere...eventually leading me to |Elite/Redemption. For such a new team, we really started shaking and movin fast and so did my gaming experience from that point on. So I owe him a lot of thanks.

ViolentJ and Choaslord were also two ppl I should really thank for the opportunities they both gave me. After redemption broke up (I contribute burnout and high expectations of ourselves as the main factor) I was sad and VJ made me scrim with |HV for a solid 2 weeks before he said tag up. |HV had a level of teamwork/communication from ppl who have played in the big matches before...and for that same reason, even though we went to go play in Quakecon2k3...we never really prepared for it due to lack of motivation. After rtcw, I played WoW for two years with all the HV guys who now run a very very successful guild on cho'gal

Kurt/Tractor Boy/Choaslord - who btw is now pussy whipped and shuns video games as a waste of time...haha. Kurt hung out with the HV peeps a lot in our priv and when he decided to bring back D|S and needed help filling the roster on Inc..he asked me to come play. It was fun as hell playing with Bread, herbal-tea, rambo, blackmagik, etc... lots of smart players and solid strats..but our teamwork wasn't what it could have been as we really never scrimmed...just showed up. But it made for a good story, and I learned a lot and had a lot of fun nonetheless. I still try to keep in touch with Kurt from time to guy who taught me how to play a lot smarter.

I played with a lot of teams after that...more less fucking around then ever being serious...I was probably at my best during my redemption through Inc. days and now just fuck around on shrub pubs or join a team for a season for random fun.

Thanks to all the ppl I played with in BaD, SeeD, |LQD|, |Elite/Redemption, |HV, D|S/Inc.,Exodus, OPP, RC, Rabia, and HL

-I must say this is an interesting idea for a thread, and I am actually suprised at how many peeps are taking shit serious and the lack of flaming is amazing.

-As for me; I've played with alot of people throughout my "career" in wolf and most all of them have been good people once I got to know them. I started playing the test demo with my best friend in rl and he and I joined the Fallen Angels clan. FA was a weird multi-gaming clan with a fucked up hierarchy system that made little sense for wolf, so after a short period most of the peeps from the rtcw division left to start up Team Eclipse. Corkdog lead the clan and was the first guy to sorta "show me the ropes" in osp. Stiegl who also came from FA to start tE was the first to get me to use a modified cfg instead of being a default player (which I was very stubborn about for some time). tE was a great clan and after Cork left I took over the lead. There was way too many players to name right now, who were in and out of tE throughout the seasons, but all of them were very cool and we always had a blast.

-After I "retired" for about a season I did a tryout for ICF and Rob/KillaSin recruited me. Rob and all the boys at ICF were also really fun fellas and our team was pretty tight. It was fun competing at a higher level and I learned alot from all those guys.

-And recently after pubbing quite a bit at Teh Palace I met Vic/Hanes and he recruited me to help him out with his new clan Cartel/Onslaught/CI. It was fun coming back and competing with players I'd pubbed with but never competed with before and I've enjoyed this past season emensely.

-Finally I'd like to say that there is alot of peeps in this comunity that I have come to think of as my friends and I would say that being apart of it has changed my life (or left a mark on it) morso than just one or two of them.

When I firt started wolf, I played under the alias wesleysniper and basically played everynight with D$C(remedy). Bascially with him I just remember the countless hours we would play together, especially in a server alone (no homo).

Then there was this cat called "quest". he played osp once i a while and was a decent player. What i liked about him was that he didnt get caught up in the whole shit-tlking thing or competiton. Dude played for fun; something you don't see a lot of.

Hmm. OPP good times. Although I loved pushing ping's buttons ... and boy could I push them ... Anyways. For indellible players ... minta (aka chilly) him and bloodymist are hands down best players I've seen, talked with at length (me and willy talked for 3 hours about guinness and scotch and somehow linked their special inebriated states to some philosophical point one of us had made best time EVER on vent). Minta was probably one of the best players and could have been a good leader if he wasn't a manic-depressive insomniac.

Funny thing I've played with good people and while at times they can be impressive, I still find it odd that the best players are fucking flakes who can't or won't talk 99% of the time (*cough* bloodymist, slaya (he talked just nothing important came out), and hydro) why is it the people you don't want talking are so freaking loud (bogga, nofx, etc) ... and always french canadian too ..

PS: Lucky don't listen to ping about knifing he freaking knifed hartman 4 times on ufo twice in the back and twice in front I still got that shit on demo, so keep the knife out .. especially in shrub. Also except to make fun of repeatedly I learned nothing from lucky .. especially not how to speak spanish :p Good times with lucky on vent though ;) Especially if buddy was around :)

Minty and Bloody were the shit newt. To bad you never truly got to experience the wonders of Glorfindel. The second best time I ever had playing this game next to when I was playing with OPP was when I was playing in .oz| with Roger (exarkun44), Minty, Maximal, Koab, Bloody, Wolfnafta, vonclauswitz and the others...The early days in our spamtastic irc channel and gamevoice server was amazing.

Maxipads was funny on vent, you know he was what like 14 and from Kansas or something, all he did was talk about weed though. Koab .. was basically stopped playing after they removed centerview (well that and he couldn't pay for internet I believe). Weren't him and nafta both unemployed and living a mile or so from Joe? Von was no fun on vent and when he played he was kind of meh in my opinion (this is post his kid being born). Roger was good on vent, but he got all involved in star wars online stuff and building his house I think.

Minta was my favorite all time on vent followed closely by blacklabel whom I learned absolutely nothing from except that eye of the tiger is the best song ever to randomly sing drunkenly during a match.

PS: Bloody graduates from RIT this year I believe ... I wonder what he's gonna do.

Redman, not that I dont like you. Personally, got nothing against you. Just letting you know, that once your busted for hacking, in a match or not. Nothing you say has any importance. You gave up your right to talk bout rtcw the day you hacked. Course, this is just my opinion. Same goes to all you hackers.

Blacklabel representin' London, Ontario. LONDON ONSTEREO MOFUCKA. (I still have that track you sent me...good stuff). Like Newty said, Blacklabel = greatest person to have on vent EVER. ITS THE EYE OF THE TIGER!

And yes newt, Koab and Nafta lived on the same street and were really close friends and Joe (laws_69) lived not far from them I think. Koab briefly lost his job and his internet for awhile, Nafta was a firefighter and would have two weeks on where he basically lived at the firehouse and two weeks off where he didnt even work. Also newty, you clearly never saw Von at his best as I would rate him above bloodymist, though I still think that he might have hacked though his southern accent was fucking hilarious. Maximal was from ARKANSAS and was probably about 17 or 18 when you would have been playing with him.

caff - get outta CAL open in rtcw2 (#keepTRYING @

IF ONLY YOU TOOK GAMING AS SERIOUS THEN AS YOU DO NOW!!! oh wait whats the point of taking gaming seriously when your getting your ass handed to you day in and day out in the lowest division.

I have to say that my most impressive teamplay experience was with Affliction in 2003. Every player had their integral role and Hollywood put together some of the most thought out and affective strats ever introduced to the game. But by far, -a-brian's playing, from v-chat communication to instictive doc running on top of having a killer shot, made him the best player to learn from in my 6 years of playing RtCW. Hats off to the team affliction crew, they are amazing gamers.

Well, I guess hands down it would be F1. Xported, Alpine, Argo, Fuzz, and Rev were the coolest guys I ever played with. I recall one night we had a match on UFO, pre-OPP slaughtering us, and we were all kind of wound up. So Xported suggested we all go flamer, and spell words with the flamer. We also rocked Swedish tags for awhile. We never won any championships, but came damn close. We had a ton of fun, and I believe earned a lot of peoples respect. So to all the guys in F1, you made it all worth it.

The majority of guys from Distorted Reality were also awesome. Scorched, Lugnut, Pipewrench, Viuda, Alias, and I forget the rest...but we had shit hole loads of fun...awesome.

The main guy who taught me how to play was Insano and Airborne from AT. Insano taught me how to stay centered and corner camp. Airborne and Knightz taught me how to duel...Nomad taught me how to strat. Good times with those guys.

A lot of love goes to The Veng/Birdz crew who I got to play a season with. Eights is one of my RL best friends, so he doesn't count. Mesh, Spuddy, Goose, and Nate were fun to play with. Wags is an awesome dude who I totally clashed with. We were both alpha type guys and butted heads a few times, but when we worked together we were a killer duo. Great times with that guy.

Been fun in good 'ol RTCW.

Have to give big thanks to Warzone for constantly helping me with my script, SoS, yZ, C!A, 502nd, 2am, Outsiders, and fX for actually helping us in F1 for awhile. Oh, of course OPP and all the others I forget.

My MWK/Redrum brethren - a few guys traveled the road from open scrubs to invite (the dead invite, we would have raped that last season of main) quality. Palehorse, Jay, Knifer, Bali, Bales, Xero, Odogg and the few that joined that last season - resudo and abomb... Lots of good times... "Look at the SHOT on that guy!"

The Flying Hellfish - my first involvement with any team of the invite level... was a fun and large learning experience ringing alongside inferno, marauder, gidon, verbal, zydoran, beavermana (before he became a rockstar) and sharp.

All of the OPP'ers... I heart you Terry. Ping, Baby, the .oz adoptees yogi, etc. Heart you n00bs.

tE - word up Cypher, glad to see the rotc program hasn't killed you. :p shoeshine, corkdog, good kids.

The pD/ffx4 guys... Don't fucking forget where you came from alpha. Everyone was a n00b at one point, and I still have demos locked away somewhere... :p Lots of love to sR, baaad, and the rest...

And a big thank you to shaftian, when he was D|S. His config was my starting point, and one of the first few to be released publicly.

The abomb that played with exodus? I don't know his background, just playing alongside him for a season. Was a damn good nuclear-panzer... Similar situation with alpha, don't know where he came from before perfect drug. He was really rough around the edges when he was with them before he put his time in and worked up through the ranks.

I learned the most while I was in tE, and we had a great group of people. I always looked forward to getting online, and even skipped RL events to play RtCW. Even though it was only a few years ago, it seems like forever. The person I learned the most from I guess was Nightfall, he showed me a lot of things I had never thought of before, since I gave him a ride to Qcon'03.

From the start:

Coren and pob of [XpK] for starting to teach me the ropes on mp_sub.

Corkdog, Father-something-or-other (and many others) of {FA} (or whatever that was) for being n00bs with me.

xcution3r, mr_g3ntl3, boo, spetsnaz, quickbeam, the_prof, and warmachine (even if it was just a week or two) for the most fun I had in RTCW (EnT).

To the Ars Technica pickups of which some moved on to the larger scene (Bee I mean you).

To LMNO for providing me with the funniest match I ever played in.

tTt for the couple of weeks we put it all together and played to that squad's potential. RMXSpy, novage, shadowjt for being stand up guys while we struggled.

Apoculos for offering me a spot in -GAT- (and CAL-I). WyattC and ChumChum for not disowning me when I took it.

slateoon_ for trying something different in RTCW and playing in a gutsy 4v6 te_ufo loss (of which I've never been prouder). To Jadeon (we love you) who was the reason for Chum's absence.

CAL|Shay for showing me a popular admin and a good admin are not the same thing (and some would argue he was neither). CAL|Jim for being both. And CAL|Bond for always being there in support.

To a few of the larger than life members of the community we looked up to: rhea, fonfon, citizen, shaftian, wombat (great shot), czm (wish he had continued...). And to the characters we loved to hate: shogun, astro, wombat (but not always a standup guy), fatal1ty (the embodiment of "terrible teammate").

And to some of the more notable (and by that I mean enjoyable) clans I played against: SToP, hux::, LQD, ballz, SeeD (Coldsweat lawl), overdrive (buddah... biger lawl), law, -SM-, HV (knife duel on te_ufo anyone?) and a million others that are just on the edge of my memory.

I got far more out of RTCW than I ever put in and in that way I consider myself very lucky. I can only hope others find games with such a diverse and positive community as I found in my first real competitive experience. Thanks for the memories guys.

LQD Purplerain- The douschebag that got me playing the damn game and his "fish tales" about going 2-8 with 31 headshots on O++ or Locked Box. He pushed me in the direction of competition.

yZ Hikikimori- Aside from saying to myself "WTF this bastard can't be hit" when I would first pub on the OSP servers I knew nothing of him. My 1st clan True Soldiers was in need of a panzer (???) so we picked up Hiki who refused to go as his normal surname and turned into the evil -|TS|-Requiem. After a year of playing with Hiki and his ventless macintosh I finally got to talk with him and we always have a good time together and even managed to follow each other to 3 other teams...we are gay lovers, in a sense. He even toiled through 60 minutes of footage of kill scenes and all to critque the video that I never made...thanks for all that again.

yZ Madoshi- Aside from being one of the most chill guys I ever got to know, Kal also did a ton of selfless things for the teams I played on...he even stayed overnight at work to play in a match because his power was out! He helped me with windows problems & more :D, configs and even created a new EDV!, and of course always giving advice for Vegas and anything else I asked.

  Posted on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 03:10:29 AM | rabia-aequitas v | ^ | #
Donka & KrazyKaze- These two never seemed to lose any interest in RtCW and always helped pick up scrims and get all the dirty work done that was necessary for being prepared for a match. Fighting with one or both of these guys about strat, my class for the match, or any other random detail was always enjoyable.

Caffeine- Weird, but who knows. Imagine a player that when you play against them seems to always bug you...yet when you play with them you feel as if they are sorta sucking and not doing so much... Caff simply disrupts the best players on the opposition. Its a thing the Vengeance crew (although barely able to be TRUE SOLDIERS 3-2 *cough*) and the later reincarnation of Teh Birdz (inertia won!) always succeeding at accomplishing. I was always excited to play against them and of course most of the games were excellent sans the chateau rapage I experienced :X Though all those whores berated me with hack / panzernoob comments, I enjoyed all the playing.

Another thanks to the ego-less people like i`mutha, rabia-hiki, rabia-battleaxe and tons of other quality individuals that refrained from talking stupid garbage in the forums and during matches or pubs etc. If everyone was annoying and boisterous then RtCW would have been much less enjoyable.

I started competing waaay late in this game, so late noone knows who Iam :). back in my 1.0 days I learned alot from my buddy fOOt aka pata on the basics, configs aiming and other crap only applicable in pubs. I met SS at Beetlejz servers. I joined them about 3 years ago and mainly shrubbed then played in a couple osp seasons. TALBOT over the last 5 years has been like my Wolf older brother, taught me almost everything I know about the game. I've only been in one clan and I'm glad it was SS. Once you join this Syndicate you cant ever leave, well you can, you just don't want to. they're like a second family. Ive been fortunate enough to play with other guys like scrilla, mutha, alien, Boo7y, inya, and Luna. Boo7y especially, he taught me so much about this game when I thought there was nothing left to learn. The little punks a natural.

We then later hooked up with Contra from OSG, MC (reminds me of Ralphthenader in so many ways, such a tremendous player) and others. We made playing with each other not a chore but a fun time. We would mess around with other games or just all get on partypoker and play some hold em. It was more along the lines of hanging out and enjoying ourselves.

One person that influenced me in a big way is Bill Carleton (ralphthenader). He is such an amazing player who has crystal clear communication on what he has visualized. His anticipation on when to push and hold back was top notch. Playing with him in 2am was a tremendous experience. I still today consider him a good friend and I follow his music on

Through my relationship with Bill, I was introduced to Hollywood. He is another guy that I was utterly impressed with. He was kind enough to let me sit on his vent and listen in on their method of communciation. Brian, Hollywood and all the guys on affliction are top notch.

Another person that had a major influence on me was Wippuh. He is such an incredibly nice person along with that whole office space crew. I cannot say enough good things about him and that team.

Other people that I enjoyed playing with and against and getting chances to meet would be reloadblues, Rahl and the rest of Distress, OPP, Alpine and the rest of team vote, Virus and Crossbreed, GGallin and the rest of his crew, The whole crew of Teamburque, Narf at qcon 2003 and

Finally OSG, Rampage, Contra, Excitebike, Defender, Atari, Moonwalker and all of those guys were such a blast to play with and against. On friday and saturday nights we would get a group of people from 2am, OSG and various other clans and we would have a pug. We would make a random theme for the night (superhero's vs super villans, McDonalds vs Burger king, Lesbians vs straight people etc...), this would make for a fun night seeing Lesbian|RosanneBarr and various other goofy stuff. We would all be in the same channel and play, most of us were drunk off their ass so you would hear people trying to psych others out "bring it long" when it was coming short. It turned out to be alot of drunken tom foolery that made for alot of good times. I miss those days and times.

I could not forget the birds, caff, spudz, mutha and all those guys made this game such a fun time.

we learned a lot playing against the likes of 2am, osg, and team burque our 1st season in the league. they were both much more developed teams than us. talking w/ ralph especially got me into the habit of developing 2 or 3 defenses and at least 3 different pushes on offense for each map - he also taught me the importance of a good vsay or 20.

paladin and i used to watch infensus demos a lot. watchign them pound wsw on village w/ 3 different pushes inspired us to develop that mentality for each map.

elliott was right in pointing out our ability to annoy top players (usually the panzer). i'm not quite sure where we developed that, but playing against better teams than us early on i'm sure had some influence in it. if up against a top panzer (elliott, warzone, insanho, elusive, scrilla) often we'd tell our panzer (usually troll) to just focus on him and not worry about anything else (see birds vs fx on village or any birds vs elliott's team demo). since our guns (save mutha/spuddy) weren't the greatest, the teamwork and flow of the game became crucial to us and became a huge part of our offense. we rarely worked so much on killing all 6 guys as we did in busting up a section of a defense and exploiting the inevidable breakdown in communication and defensive responsibility that ensues chaos - the most disciplined and communicative teams often gave us the hardest time, not necessarily the team w/ the best players. often we'd scrim better teams than us and steal ideas or little nuances from them and blend them into our game. i'd like to think we were one of the better gibbing teams in the game and that it was a HUGE and very underrated part of our relative success - again thanks to ralph, biff (he used to have us work on just following a guy's body straight down to the ground and unloading a whole clip into him), and a few other guys that really stressed the importance of a gibbed medic.

havok (yes the hacker guy) gave us a few strat ideas and some stuff to work on our teamwork. ie. having 3 allied medics run through tavern against 3 axis guns was one thing we used to practice - the 3 allies wouldn't shoot at all. they'd just try to make it through the tavern by dodging and reviving each other. he also gave us some zany strats to try out and was a big contributor to the development of non-cookie cutter strats such as the infamous merlot D

i also learned a ton about positioning and game smarts from watching DS BREAD. i really admired his gameplay. he was the 1st wolfplayer i really looked up to and aspired to be like. my shot never got close to his, but i think my gamesmarts did. it was a good goal to have

spec also gave us some time and introduced us to new strat ideas when we were first breaking into competition (boosting our panzer onto the window in sub was the 1st WOW that's a fucking cool idea i remember having)

another big thing was watching wtv. a lot was often learned from all of us watching the good things AND the mistakes made by other teams/players (did you guys see that? see how that fell apart when xxx did xxxxx? see how xxxx losing his eyes from xxxxxxxx position allowed that to collapse?)

hammer, remember that night 2am and birds got together and we did walking men the whole night on hellsgate or w/e osp pub it was? lmfao walking docs on village in a full pub!

**If this is too long don't read it, or else fuk yrself**

I got a new computer back in winter 2002 and it came with a FPS "I'm going in". Still my fav FPS single player game ever, I'd recommend anybody trying it for kix (not IGI II). After mastering the hardest level I read about RTCW and installed it. Only MP FPS game I have ever played.
Great play and good times. I pubbed alot and was asked to join a clan called =VICREW= lol. Only guy I recall was a guy named Lazyeye. We both went panzer back in STA 7's days early 2003. I see him still owning the fuk outta everybody on PC Newbies, lol. We had a major blowout one day and I left them because their strat guy was an fukin idiot.

I really had a horrible default config and my 'puter was not gaming ready. My mouse was off the shelf.

I met a kid pubbing named Loyalgaurd and he liked my gun so he and I put a clan together called INRI. We couldn't get good players so we renamed to a crazy name like *decimate*. We were undefeated in CAL and TWL when I found out he was a wanted man with league history and we got banned, lmao. I used XahQshunR then along with Puddytat. I will say this, Loyalgaurd was an crazy, paranoid shkitzo but he would scrim for hours on end every night with 5 ringurs if need be to get shit down. He and I spent countless hours trying new shit and met many cool players who loved to ring for us.
After getting banned, Pissclams finally let us play CAL O but TWL would not, we would have won that season no doubt. We played the following season as Superheros and that was my first full season in a league and first and last clan that I ever scrimmed regularly with.
I met Timebomb who was an -a- player and he gave me good advice. I was still playing with a reduced screen in those days to not miss IRC and AIM messages. I was a fuking noob back then, $5 dollar mouse and downgraded 'puter. Nobody had ever told me about configs and shit. WaT?Rome (CaQRubbiOr/ puffmydragon) may be the coolest guy I have ever played with. MFer was a stop anything LT and we always joined vent with "Who d@ Ch@mpZ!11! Great times. His roomate was Wolverine who was an -i- player and as remedy told me later taught rem to trick jump, and rem worked with me, lol. Those 4 guys boosted my game up alot in a short time.

I wanted to learn all about configs and decided what better way to learn than make my own server and learn EVERYTHING. I got help from a player when nobody else would, F@d3d from ci@. I owe that guy so much, I sent him $100 for all his time and it was not even close to being enough. He spent weeks with me on getting CovOps server to be THE best pub and match server I have ever played on. It became a 15 map rotation frag hurr server and I learned so much about configs that I made my own from scratch and things got alot easier in getting kills even though I pinged high in Seattle.
I met alot of great friends on COserver. AlphaNeo was the only guy who could stay on for at least one complete rotation along with me. First in, last out.
Back then there was an hour wait to get in and guys were telling me to bump any name we didn't know. It was like a Manhattan restaurant and only the who's who were playing on peak nights. Remedy and slaya ran the server for me in daytime and I got to know them real well, rem has always been an incredibly friendly guy to me and I loved slaya until he got too big for his britches when after ringing for Star all the time he joined -fX- finally and became an asshat to me kind of, but kind of jokingly as well. I'll always like slaya, I have no fukin clue if he really hates me anymore.
Everybody thought he (Neo) hacked but, he just put in alot of time. I become great friends with 2 guys I will always love to meet in rl. Mindgame (mindgobbler) and ConF. They already were a level above me and alpha and they would destroy the server, WarRioR and I would become good friends then as well. After many months we were catching up to their gameplay but, nobody could touch mindgame in trickjumping maps. The best dzm player I have ever seen, and I've seen 'em all late night in the ol days. I learned alot from mg and my 'puter kept me from getting to the next level so I upgraded around the time of my first clan I made solo, Star. I could run through dzm easily with the new 'puter. donKa also gave me good straff points way back in SH when we were fuking around with CXG version.

I was very proud of that clan (Star) as I had alot guys wanting in but, I kept it to guys who I felt were team players and could learn a strat quickly, nobody scrimmed us after a few weeks except for -fX-. That was our only weekly scrims and they were embarrassingly good. In fact, had -fX- not been around, we would have one a few titles as they were the only clan able to knock us out of the playoffs. Mutha I recruited as leader of birdz, donKa from leader of Kinetic, KK as leadewr of TV, TB from leader of Saint and our SH days, Neo from the COserver, and filled out with various kids like trigger from bwg. A huge pothead but, I liked that fukup. He had a terrible life and I would give him advice, RTCW was more to me than a game back then, I talked alot of rl shit with many guys and it was a great time in my life. Playing RTCW actually helped my basketball game and I found the 2 enhanced each other.
I got to know -fX- guys real good as not only did I meet them in rl at CXG, they were my only scrim I could get in Star. I felt that that version of -fX- was the best I have ever seen with Serb, WarRiOr, Rambo, rem, slaya, Vat. No offense to those later -fX- players but, no other -fX- team was nearly that good and they were scrimming as much as they could back then, real tight.

After losing to -fX-, I kept in touch with a few guys after that and donKa talked alot of shit behind my back and to this day loves to take jabs at me in here but, if I ever met him again in rl I'd gladly buy him a beer. donKa was a cool guy he just seems frustrated and jealous over others accomplishments.

After that I started out with another version of Star and it looked very promising as we were rolling scrims with OpZ, commOn, ConF, Booty, and Alpha but mg started up the second versionm of sMn and he took half my roster, lol. Can't blame him, I feel that was a great team and I was invited to play with them after I left leagues with remnants of Star and was going to retire.
Perhaps my funnest time ever. WarRiOr had me literally soaking wet from laffing every day, mg was hilarious and ConF was rofl material. The axis complex match vs TV was so funny, WarRiOr capping with pillow bags through 5 TV guys handing each other ammo was one of the funniest things ever.
Insanely funny team and had we been more serious, should not have lost on beach to -fX- that night, too much bs and tking all season and when it came down to the final, not following strat. CAL version of WarRiOr, warzone, ConF, mg, Neo, commOn with me and Guerilla calling strats in spec. TWL I played for commOn or mg during season.

Flatline was a great time. Two undefeated seasons of never scrimming and having fun with FL crew (militant, eternal, vid, sage, digital)was great. saladin and sOr also were around at times as well as alea. The 6 man flagpole during match on frosty was movie material. We had to tk 2 guys and stand on them to fit us all.
Flatline guys were the best at playing strats of any clan I ever played in. We scrimmed -fX- even to help them before some matches (silo version) and did well.

Finally, was done with RTCW I thought but, felt one more fun season of zero scrimming and just show up and play was in order and made Metal GawdZ.
My favorite thing about that clan was getting to know Serbian. Perhaps THE coolest and nicest player in my top 5 guys. Vat played a few matches and he floated around having fun alot but, the guy new the game inside out and we had some friction about shit a few times. The guy is funnier than hell. Other than those 2 guys, basically my normal players that stayed together like eternal (who krazykaze wouldn't let play in the TV finals cuz of a guide issue), militant, elusive, mutha, etc.

I feel I met some of the coolest guys I could have met playing this game for the little time window I did play.
I am sure this is long post but fukit;

Serb and WarRiOr the two best guys to understand a strat and execute it, period.

militant, guerilla, two underated players who owned and I never lost a match with those two guys.

WarRiOr, mindgame the 2 gayest faggots to ever install RTCW.

rem, slaya, the tuffest 2 v 2 I ever faced or dueled.

mindgame, Vatican the 2 best strategm minds I ever played with.

Beez, elusive, the 2 best panzers I ever played with.

CaQruBBiOr, Serbi@n, F@d3d, saladin the nicest guys I have ever met online.

Booty, vid, sage, mutha my top proteges, 1001.

alpha neo, donKa friends who became azzhats and still are friends.

Serb, mindgame best trickjumpers ever, period.

remedy, the hardest guy to kill OSP or shrub.

WarRiOr, timebomb, mindgame best doc runners to play with.

Those who hate, go masterbate, I said what I said and wanted to say.

Rest of you, glad I met you, had great times with so many of you, if anybody gets to Seattle pm me and I'll meet you for lunch.

ICF|oKny was the first guy to invite me to his clan when we played on his cracked server called "Like Whoa!!"
xpire, enigma and commodus usually pubbed on there and i got my first config from xpire, those guys were great, then i jumped on irc and met killa-sin and the rest of ICF. everyone in this clan is fucking awsome and would help anyone. this led me to my first clan o++ which has a badass pub server at the time, when they decided to go ET i jumped on redlines bench and fatninja showed me how to trickjump,(one of the best trickjumpers IMO) then i met teh birdz and have been chillin since that, CAFF is a great leader. Since that 1/2 of the birdz went to vengeance and spud and i started FIST (Black Panthers) did not scrim once and rolled our ways to semi finals, and the most glorious moment of wooping the shit out of true soldiers in playoffs down 0-2, they called admins to the match so they could spectate us and got rolled! FIST was probably the most fun i ever had playing this game because no one took the game seriously like most people, who dont like helping out people that are not as good as them.
1 more shotout to D|S-Rambo, who would always let me duel him and help me out with pointers.
even though most of the rtcw community has its beef its been fun playing this game when it was in its prime.

Banks: The XpK (extreme psycho killers I believe) vs LMNO match was from season 1 or 2 of CAL. Probably the funniest thing in the world. I would highly suggest searching for the demo and finding a way to play old dm files. XpK was rolling them and LMNOs Global chat was priceless.

did any of those clans evolve into a different name? Or did they disband, and go there own ways. I didnt enter the rtcw scene until season 3, thats why I didnt recognize there names.

  Posted on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 03:38:47 PM | #slateoon higs_ v | ^ | #

LMNO (leave my name out) was a new clan that had game names as the first and last letter of their alias (ex: "johnny" would become [LMNO]jy). After the XpK match they pretty much all vanished as far as I know with the exception of one reasonably well known player (whom I have forgotten) that pm'd me out of the blue one day to relive old times. That was his first clan and we had a good chuckle over it.

XpK became EnT (entity) midseason and included a couple of players who went on to other better known clans including:
xcution3r (tTt and some others I can't remember)
spetsnaz (wicked, among others)
warmachine (briefly... went on to a huge css "career")
quickbeam (benched and played for Locked on Target)
the_prof (started on dT's old squad)
mr_g3ntl3 (severely underrated gun and mind)
boo (vanished after entity, great medic though)
myself (bad player, worse admin, somehow convinced tTt and GAT to play me)

I had a lot of fun during those times, even if I did spend way too much time on the computer. Hindsight really is 20/20.
